Model Code: SC68 SI & 2SI Type (Year Model: 2013 – 2015)

Symptom:
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Takata agreed to issue a 
recall of vehicles equipped with certain Takata non-desiccated inflators used in front
passenger air bag systems based on a phased approach. GL1800 uses the same inflator (PSPI-L).
 
Description of defect:

Corrective action is to be carried out for affected vehicles based on the Defect Information
Report (DIR) issued by Takata in accordance with the agreement reached with NHTSA.

Corrective actions and steps to be taken to rectify defect:
Modified inflator will be implemented to be replaced for all affected units.

Symptom:
Fuel Leak.

Description of defect:
When a fuel tank cap packing was deformed by fuel, the packing climbed over after the cap is tightened, and then failed 
packing’s sealing performance. This was caused by the size of a packing holder assembled with the fuel tank cap was improper.
Under such state, if the fuel tank is almost fully filled with gasoline and a driver quickly reduce the speed, fuel may be leaked out
of the packing’s sealing part through a drain tube.

Corrective actions and steps to be taken to rectify defect:
Application of modified fuel tank caps in order to prevent the packing from climbing over the filler even when it is swollen.

Symptom:
Engine stalls while driving and unable to restart.

Description of defect:
Resin inlet cover of fuel pump had swollen into the shape of projection, depriving of the clearance with the impeller at its sliding areas, causing the fuel pump to lock up.

Corrective actions and steps to be taken to rectify defect:
Change the new fuel pump to the one using inlet cover made of aluminum.

Symptom:
Customer was riding by the avenue when suddenly had to turn the steering of the motorcycle but this one does not turned.

Description of defect:
Since the fixing SCREW, SPECIAL FLAT, 6X12 of the COMB SW got loosened, the protruded SCREW interfered with the BRIDGE COMP.

Corrective actions and steps to be taken to rectify defect:
Fasten the COMB SW and the mounting stay using bolts with fixing agent on their threads.
