Two is better than one

Good things come in pairs, and the CRF1000L Africa Twin is true to that adage and its heritage, adroitly balancing power and weight with the parallel-twin motor. Its chassis has all it takes to perform in off-road conditions as well as on-road, and the bike features upgrades in both manual and dual clutch transmissions. With improved engine response and reduced weight, this ride feels lighter and more compact compared to other litre-class adventure bikes out there.


The Africa Twin’s semi-double cradle steel frame offers high-speed stability. It sports the Throttle By Wire (TBW) System with three riding modes that adjust engine character and output. Minimum bodywork in a tough, lightweight form means the Africa Twin packs both wind protection and a slim, agile feel. Underlining its ‘Go anywhere’ credentials is a unique Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), featuring a ‘G’ button. Push it to modify the controls of the clutch system and enjoy a more direct drive.

Highly responsive

Whatever the environment, the engine is never caught off guard. The TBW System helps it manage output, feel, and rear wheel traction, and the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) ensures a firm grip on the road.


The engine packs in 70kW power at 7,500rpm with 99Nm torque at 6,000rpm. Smartly designed crankcases and ingeniously placed water pumps aid and improve delivery of power.

Smooth operator

The bike’s unique DCT* coordinates gear changes and clutch movements effortlessly, resulting in promptness and seamlessness every time it adapts to different riding conditions. *Available on DCT Model only)

Compact comfort

The model boasts a supple front suspension, Showa rear shock that delivers 220mm axle travel, and height-adjustable seats. There’s also a ground clearance of 250mm and the CRF1000L African Twin is 2kg lighter than its predecessors.
